The documentary follows Sir Norman Foster and his core team from Foster & Partners as they prepare their competition bid for the design of the new Barajas Airport in Madrid, Spain. Filming takes place in the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Madrid, Spain over the period June- October 1996. In December 1996 Foster & Partners withdrew from the competition after weighing up the uncertainties and risks of their investment in the bid.
