Stephanie Mills is an architect,
urban designer and filmmaker. Born in South Africa in 1955, she
now lives in London, UK. A graduate of Harvard University, USA (M.
of Arch. in Urban Design 1982) and the University of Natal, South
Africa (B. Arch. 1978), Mills is a member of the Royal Institute
of British Architects and of the British Academy of Film & Television
Arts (BAFTA).
For
over a decade Mills has utilised the companies she co-founded -
Urban Arts, Lexington Films, Mackerel Sky and Cite Design –
as partnership vehicles for the realisation of architectural, urban
design and film projects. Some of these projects are reflected on
this web site, as well as new ones in development by Cite Design.
Mills views
herself as a catalyst, interacting with people and organisations
in imaginative ways. To this process she brings strong team building
and leadership qualities; an enjoyment of responding to new challenges;
an ability to synthesise ideas, concepts and trends; and a tendency
to work at many scales running diverse processes in parallel.
